Sometimes learning technical terms for science can be a drag. Not a lot of children can just sit down and hear words like amyloplasts or endoplasmic reticulum or ribosome and just tell you what it means. Did I even spell those correctly? Rest assured I did, and my latest science pack, All About Plant Cells is sure to be a fun, hands-on way for your child or students to not only learn about, but also remember the various parts of a plant cell since they are different from animal cells.
Does your child or student know what cells are yet? Do they know that plant and animal cells have different parts and pieces? In my latest pack, All About Plant Cells, you child or students will learn all about the scientific parts of a plant cells, learn what the technical terms are, get a general feel for what they look like, and hopefully will help them learn everything they need to know about plant cells.
In this pack I have included a few different learning elements for all age levels and skill levels, but, in my opinion, it is best suited for teaching an introduction to plant cells in or about the 4th through 6th grades as they dive into everything related to cells in 6th through 8th grades. Included, to name a few, are the following educational elements:
Science if full of terminology that comes from Greek and Latin bases. Although this might make the words hard to learn, learning the terminology does not always need to be cut and dry. This pack helps teach the terminology, definitions, and how the plant cell parts are all important in a plant’s cell.
Plant Cell Wall Cards
To help you learn about the 9 major parts of a plant cell in this pack I have included wall cards for the different terminology.
Plant Cell Parts Recognition
Included is a series of items that are designed to help your child or students learn about the parts of a cell through terminology, copy work, coloring, and more. These activities are centered on the different parts of a plant cell, but are designed to reinforce the technical nature of the lessons through tried and true techniques of tracing, color matching, and motor skills.
This pack includes various language arts components that are all designed to help your child or students learn the terminology for the parts of a plant cell. You will find activities on sentence structure, detail analysis, and scientific terminology, just to name a few types of activities included.
Multiple portions of this plant cell pack develop various new vocabulary words for your child or student to learn pertaining to plant cells.
