Summer is a great time to catch up on your reading. It’s also the time when libraries begin their summer reading programs! Because most libraries allow you free reign of your book choices for their programs, now is a great time to bring Caldecott Medal Winners in to your child’s life! Caldecott Medal winning books, are American picture books that have been recognized for their superb illustrations. Just one picture book artist a year is given the medal, though there are a handful of other artists who receive Honor recognition. For this month, Poppins Book Nook explores the literature of the Caldecott Winners and our bloggers are sharing with you the books they discovered and the activities they were inspired to do!
