Around the holidays I’m all about easy.  After I clean my house, decorate, go grocery shopping, and set the table the last thing I want to do is stand in the kitchen for a couple of hours making everything from scratch.  So if I can make it ahead, pop it in the oven, or set and forget it I’m so there.  Surprisingly we don’t usually eat rolls or some other bread-family side with our holiday meals.  I’m not sure why because we all LOVE bread.  I decided I wanted to change that this year.  

Your bread machine makes these dinner rolls absolutely effortless and with very little hands on time you can have fresh rolls ready by dinner!

But although my Effortless Dutch Oven Bread is so simple even I can make it it’s definitely time consuming.  There’s LOTS of rising and resting time.  In a bread machine you’re left with the perfect temp for rising.  Just a quick 30 minutes to let the rolls rise after you shape them and they’re ready for the oven!  And you can set the machine and wander around to do something else! 

They were beyond yummy fresh from the oven and slathered spread lightly with butter.  I also enjoyed one two the day after toasted, with butter and jam.  Delish.  It really can’t get easier than dumping the ingredients in the bread machine and pressing start, shaping into rolls, and baking for 15 minutes.

Thanksgiving, Christmas, Tuesday night.  These rolls are ah-may-zing any time and with only 3 steps you can’t beat how simple they are!  If you don’t have a bread machine {you should get one} you can also make these in a stand mixer fitted with a dough hook attachment!  Just be prepared for that rising time.

Doughy and delicious these bread machine yeast rolls are an easy addition to any meal!

  1. 1 1/3 cup warm water
  2. 2 Tbs butter
  3. 2 tsp salt
  4. 1 Tbs + 2 tsp sugar
  5. 4 cups flour
  6. 2 Tbs nonfat dry milk
  7. 1 1/4 tsp active dry yeast
  1. Add ingredients into bread machine in the order they are listed and set to dough cycle. Mine takes two hours.
  2. When the cycle is finished remove dough from machine and cut into 16 equal pieces. Shape into rolls, knots, whatever makes you happy. and set side by side in a 9 x 13 pan to rise for 30-45 minutes. I covered mine with a damp towel and set them on top of the preheated oven since it was a little cool in our kitchen.
  3. Once doubled in size bake at 350 degrees for 13 to 16 minutes or until golden brown.
