Welcome to the US Presidents book resources here on Enchanted Homeschooling Mom! As with any lesson plan, curriculum, unit or activity you may want to dive deeper into the topic or enhance the lessons for what your child or student’s needs are. For me, this typically means adding literature, storybooks, or library research days to the lessons. Because there is a diversity of knowledge and formats for learning about the US Presidents that can fit your educational and teaching styles I wanted to share what book resources I have been finding that are useful to me in my US President lessons so that you could possibly benefit from them as well.
To help entice my children to learn their facts about the US Presidents from George Washington to Barack Obama I plan to use some of the following state themed book lists, storybook series, and books themselves to help keep the learning fun. I would love to list them all, but here are some of our favorites to start you with. You can check them all out in the Enchanted Homeschooling Mom Bookstore US Presidents Section:

In case you are thinking of using or purchasing some of my book and resource suggestions I have tried to make your shopping or library experience easier while setting up for your US Presidents lessons with a special section in my bookstore just of its resources! In the Enchanted Homeschooling Mom Bookstore US Presidents Section you can find a special section just for the books used in this weekly series that will look like this:
This is a great book about how to become president as you follow Duck. Duck for President by Doreen Cronin is not only a fun book, but it is also a great story to practice reading skills with. This book also has a fun video to go along with it:
This book is a staple of US President Learning in our homeschool. The New Big Book of U.S. Presidents: Fascinating Facts about Each and Every President, Including an American History Timeline by Todd Davies provides a vast wealth of knowledge on each of the US Presidents from George Washington to Barack Obama. This book is not a storybook, but does present information in a child friendly manner while it presents facts from timelines to illustrations to photographs to political issues during a President’s time in office. To me, this is a must have resource for your US President Learning.
Want to dive deep into the topic of the presidents? Then you must take a look at what Presidents (Eyewitness Books) by James Barber has to offer. The Eyewitness series is always chalk full of fun facts, little known facts, and much, much more for children to learn about their subjects. One of the best parts is this series of books usually also contains a CD full of additional materials that is usually fun.
