Did you know that as a homeschooler you are still entitled to teacher discounts and your children or students are also entitled to student discounts? Lots of stores, restaurants, movie theaters and other places offer student and teacher discounts. I was surprised to know initially that I did not need to be a certified teacher, but more importantly, all I had to do was present a valid teacher card for discounts when I was making purchases at teacher supplies stores down and other local stores.  After doing more research I found more and more locations that I came across had incentives, resources, and discounts for teachers and it is always a fantastic idea to save a little money on supplies and field trips.

2014 – 2015 Free Homeschool Teacher and Student ID Cards - Enchanted Homeschooling Mom

So, if you are part of local charter homeschooling program your school may or may not have provided you with a student identification card and/or a teacher identification card (every charter school is different). No matter whether you are homeschooling privately or through a charter school, if you have not been provided a teacher or student ID card all you need to do is print a copy of the ID cards that I made below for our family and add your information and photograph in the spaces provided. I highly suggest laminating your ID cards so that they last all school year long as you use them over and over.

You do not have to miss out on the savings just because your child is not in a brick and mortar school, so put your homeschool ID card to use immediately with savings on the supplies and materials for the new school year!

  • Very cute! I should totally use these, but I guess I should come up with a school name first!

  • Great idea to have your own id cards for discounts. Thanks for sharing on Mom’s Library, I’ll be featuring these this week at Crystal’s Tiny Treasures.

Have you tested these to see if they work? I love the concept but I live in a picky state so am curious.

    • Thank you for your question Gwen. My family has used these cards I create each year for the last 4 years without any issues and have been able to get discounts without any question. We have used them at the movies, book stores, restaurants, teacher supply stores, etc. As for strict rules, we are in CA one of the most regulated and strict states and they have never been questioned.

  • Printed them for the new year! Thank you 🙂

  • I had never thought of this! Awesome printable!

This is a silly question, but once downloaded how do you add your school name , address, teacher name etc… to the cards so you can print them off ready to laminate? I am tech. challenged so I just had to ask! Thanks 🙂
