With winter arriving today, I want to present to you all my latest science themed pack that focuses on Penguins called Penguin Friends Pack. In this 100+ page printable pack you will find almost everything you need to know about penguins. This pack takes a closer look at nine different types of penguins, their habitats, and contains other penguin related activities too. As a resource for this pack I used and recommend the book National Geographic Kids Penguins! This book should be available to you through your local library, amazon and the Kindle store. I purchased the Kindle version to use with Beck and Elizabeth when we are using this pack.
In this pack I have included a lot of different elements for all age levels and skill levels, but it is best suited for grades PreK through 4th. Some of the included elements are for language arts, writing, and science. Included, to name a few, are the following elements:
Penguin Wall Cards
To help you learn about the nine different penguins used in this pack I have included wall cards for the penguins with their names attached to them.
Included in this pack is information on the favored habitat of most penguin, the Antarctic. Various aspects of the Antarctic are discussed from geographical features to climate to ice formations (and much much more).
Included are activities that are to be used after your child or student has researched the nine penguin types discussed in this pack.
Anatomy of a Penguin
Included is a discussion and activity (with a Quiz) about the various anatomical features of penguins.
Field Trip Activity
Included is a series of items that are best used while visiting the penguin exhibit at your local Zoo, Sea World or other exhibit with live penguins to observe and learn about the penguin life cycle.
This pack includes various Language arts components that are all themed with penguins. You will find activities on reading comprehension, sentence structure, verb tense, and adjective analysis, just to name a few types of activities included.
Various parts of this pack include drawing components. These elements are all intended to enhance the lessons being taught about penguins.
Multiple portions of this Penguin Friends Pack develop various new vocabulary words for your child or student to learn pertaining to penguins.
To accompany this pack’s discussion of Antarctica is a series of activities dedicated to geography and landforms common to the Antarctic.
Included is a unique hands-on science experiment that helps bring to life for your child or student what it might be like to live with an icy surface below you all the time.
Early Learning Components
To make this fun for the younger learners out there I have also included penguin themed copy work pages, puzzles, and other components that will be just up your child or students alley so that they can reinforce their early learning skills.
To summarize what is in this Penguin Friends Pack you will find themed activities for:
