We have been doing lots of hands on math activities. At times the plan old paper and pencil don’t always go over so well. Here is a fun simple activity to bring back some math basic and have some hands on as well. It is amazing how fast a hands on activity can go when it is not the same repeated activity.
First put the links into chains of two colors. I did not count the links as I was doing it and found later I had done some the same.
I gave my oldest the links and she started counting them and filling out the Math Fact House. You count each color the fill in the top boxes.
Then she filled in the rest of the boxes. I had her check her work with the links to make sure it was right.
We repeated this activity a few times. Then we review the addition and subtraction that she learned.
This is a simple hands on math activity that you can do with older and younger kids. It was a great way to review math that was just not filling in blanks. Plus after each set she can just wipe it off and do the next one!
