Welcome to this month’s Virtual Book Club for Kids! This month our author is Julia Donaldson. After scouring through some of her creative and fun storybooks Beck and Elizabeth selected Stick Man. This sweet storybook follows the adventures of Stick Man as he get mistaken for an ordinary stick and is put in precarious situations that range from being used in a snowman to being thrown for a dog all while he is trying to get back to his Stick Lady Love and his stick children three.

After reading this storybook I thought, thought, thought and then it hit me. Our family lives very rural in the mountains where we are surrounded by trees. Why not collect some branches from the ground and create our very own stick man! Using just 2 small branches, 2 googly eyes, green construction paper, and a hot glue gun we had an instant Stick Man of our own!
On a hike one day around our 7+ acres of property we took our Stick Man on many journey’s and exciting adventures. Here is a day in the life of our Stick Man:
