I am still trying to catch up from my hand injury last week so while I know that Columbus Day was last week it’s better late than never right, LOL! Some fun things we did this past week in honor of our Christopher Columbus Unit were:

We did this wonderful Christopher Columbus lapbook that can be found at Marine Corps Nomad for free.

Elizabeth read 1492, a free emergent reader from Carls Corner.

We used parts of 3 Dinosaurs wonderful Christopher Columbus Pack.

We watched these videos at Discovery Education:

– Animated Heroes Classics Christopher Columbus
– Exploring the World Christopher Columbus and the New World video and worksheets

We watched the video on Christopher Columbus and did the quiz, activity and game over at Brain Pop Jr.

For a final project I had Beck make a comic book filled with facts that he learned during the week about Christopher Columbus. I have found that for him that history tests can sometimes make him nervous so showing to me what he knows and has learned about history through comic books has worked like a charm!
