John Glenn Unit Study
When planning out the school year I noticed that John Glenn’s birthday was in the month of July. I knew that I wanted to include him in our homeschooling lessons so I put together this unit study for the kids to do on his birthday.
Enchanted Learning: John Glenn
We made this galaxy lava lamp project to pretend to see what it would look like outside of a space shuttle if we were on a space shuttle (sorry for the poor picture but it was really quite pretty and cool to look at):
Moon Unit Study
I used a combination of the following for our moon unit study:
BrainPop: The Moon
Enchanted Learning: Phases of the Moon
Enchanted Learning: Sun, Earth, and Moon Model
Enchanted Learning: The Moon Coloring Page
I figured if we were learning about the First Moon Landing why not go over what the phases of the moon looked like. I decided to use the tried and true Oreo Moon Phases (a science lesson plus some yummy cookies, how can you go wrong? LOL):
Phases of the moon worksheet found HERE.
We finished off our First Moon Landing unit study by making these fun rocket art projects:
