I would like to take a moment and share with everyone some of the themes, topics and resources that I will be using for our children for the month of October. My hope in sharing these ideas is that perhaps it can help someone else find some new resources. Please note that I will not be mentioning every item used however if you see an item that you would like to know where I found it please feel free to contact me and I will do the best that I can to help you locate where I found it.

We do a countdown to all of the major holidays. So this month we will be using our pumpkins that I made to countdown to Halloween on our daily calendar wall.

Field Trips planned for this month:  Pumpkin Patch and Farm (I always make a lapbook for this field trip. That way each child has their lessons for the day on the farm and my husband and I have a special keepsake to keep each year of this family tradition. * Make sure to ask your local pumpkin patch/farm in advance if they offer a discount for homeschoolers. I have found that most farms will give you the teacher/school discount as well as potential freebies or guided tours of the farms.
