For the last few months I have been creating new math manipulatives for both of our kids for next school year. I decided to make hands on Apple Tree and Banana Tree kits. I just used free clip art. I purposefully wanted the trees to be black and white and the fruit to be brightly colored so during a lesson the kids would focus on the number of fruit rather than the colors of the tree. So I painted the fruit with Dot-A-Dot paints. I did laminate everything so that it lasts years rather than a one-time use.

I plan to use these for simple counting, addition, subtraction, some some more stories and some some went away stories. I made these with the idea of using them for grades K-2nd. I am really looking forward to seeing these kits in action come next school year in addition to my other math manipulatives.
